Cookies Policy
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) when you visit. They allow the site to recognise your device on subsequent visits and remember certain information — such as your preferences or whether you are logged in.
Similar technologies include web beacons (tiny images embedded in pages or emails), local storage, and session storage. We refer to all of these collectively as "cookies" in this policy.
2. Types of Cookies We Use
We use the following categories of cookies on our website:
Essential cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function. They enable core features like navigation, secure areas, and your student account session. Without these cookies the site cannot work properly. These cookies cannot be disabled.
Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting and reporting information in aggregate. We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity for this purpose. Data collected includes pages visited, time spent on each page, traffic source, broad geographic location (country / city level), and — via Clarity — aggregated heatmaps and masked session recordings in which your form inputs are hidden. These cookies are set only with your consent.
Preference cookies allow the website to remember choices you have made — such as your selected course department or whether you have dismissed a notice — so we can personalise your experience on return visits.
Marketing & advertising cookies are placed — only if you accept them — by advertising platforms so we can measure how our campaigns perform and show our courses to relevant audiences, including people who have already visited our site (remarketing). We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel for this. These cookies are never set unless you accept them via our cookie banner, and you can decline or withdraw your consent at any time.
3. Why We Use Cookies
We use cookies to:
- Keep you signed in to your student account during a session
- Remember your course or department preferences
- Measure and analyse site traffic to improve our pages and content
- Understand which programmes, pages, or blog posts generate the most interest
- Detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity
- Measure our advertising and show relevant courses to people who have visited our site — only if you consent to marketing cookies
We only place advertising or marketing cookies after you accept them, and you can decline or withdraw your consent at any time using the controls described below. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Managing Cookies
Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings — you can block cookies, delete existing cookies, or receive a warning before a cookie is stored. Instructions vary by browser:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Please note that disabling essential cookies will affect the functionality of the website and may prevent you from accessing your student account or completing a purchase.
5. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on our site are set by third-party services we use. These include:
- Google Analytics — for website traffic analysis. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel — set only with your consent, to measure our advertising and support remarketing on Facebook and Instagram. If "advanced matching" is enabled, a limited set of contact details you have already provided (such as your email address or phone number) is shared with Meta in hashed, irreversible form to help match your visit to an existing Facebook account — we never share these details in plain text. See Meta's Privacy Policy, and manage ad personalisation in your Facebook settings.
- Microsoft Clarity — set only with your consent, to view aggregated heatmaps and masked session recordings (your form inputs are hidden) that help us improve the site. See Microsoft's Privacy Statement.
- Payment processors — when you proceed to checkout, our payment gateway may set cookies on its own domain to facilitate a secure transaction. Those cookies are governed by the payment processor's own policy.
We do not control third-party cookies and are not responsible for the content of third-party privacy policies.
Our legal basis for setting analytics and advertising cookies is your consent, which you give through our cookie banner and can withdraw at any time. Because Google, Meta, and Microsoft are global providers, they may process this data on servers outside India; how long they retain it is governed by their own policies linked above.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time as our use of cookies evolves or as regulations change. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
