Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
IAE Academy ("we", "our", or "us") is a GATE coaching and IT training institute headquartered at 227A Rash Behari Ave, Ballygunge, Kolkata, West Bengal 700019, India.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit our website, enquire about our programmes, or enrol as a student, and how we use, share, and protect that information. By using our site or services you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways:
Information you provide directly. When you submit an enquiry form, book a consultation, or enrol in a course we may ask for:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number
- City / state of residence
- College name and graduation year
- Engineering department / discipline
- Course or programme of interest
Payment information. If you purchase a course, payments are processed by third-party payment processors (such as Razorpay or similar providers). We do not store your card number, UPI credentials, or net-banking details on our servers; those processors' own privacy policies govern that data.
Usage data. We collect standard technical data automatically — IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent, referral source — to understand how our site is used and to improve it.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your enquiries and schedule consultations
- Process enrolments and manage your student account
- Deliver course content, live sessions, and study materials
- Send important updates about your enrolled programme
- Send occasional promotional messages about new courses or offers (you can opt out at any time)
- Measure and target our online advertising — only with your consent — including showing our courses to relevant audiences and to people who have previously visited our site (remarketing)
- Analyse site usage to improve our content, design, and user experience
- Comply with legal obligations
We will not use your information for purposes materially different from those listed above without obtaining your consent first.
4. Cookies & Analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to remember your preferences and to understand how visitors interact with our pages. We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to aggregate traffic and usage data; these services may set their own cookies on your device.
With your consent, we also use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure our advertising and to reach relevant audiences on Facebook and Instagram, including people who have previously visited our site. Where "advanced matching" is enabled, a limited set of contact details you have already provided (such as your email address or phone number) may be shared with Meta in hashed, irreversible form so it can match your visit to an existing Facebook account; we never share these details in plain text. These technologies load only after you accept them, and you can decline or withdraw your consent at any time.
For a full description of the cookies we use and how to control them, please read our Cookies Policy.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share your data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: companies that help us operate — including Google Firebase (database & authentication), Google Analytics, payment processors, and email delivery services. These providers are contractually bound to process your data only as needed to deliver their services to us.
- Advertising & analytics partners: with your consent, Meta (Facebook) and Microsoft Clarity receive limited information about your visit — and, where advanced matching is enabled, hashed contact details — to help us measure advertising, run remarketing, and improve the site, as described in our Cookies Policy. This is never done without your consent, and we do not sell your personal information.
- Legal requirements: if we are required to disclose information by law, court order, or governmental authority.
- Business transfers: in the unlikely event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred — we will notify you before that happens.
Some of these providers — including Meta, Google, and Microsoft — operate globally and may process your information on servers outside India, subject to their own privacy commitments. Our legal basis for advertising and analytics cookies is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
6. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure — including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to contact us immediately if you believe your information has been compromised.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to request corrections, and to ask us to delete your data (subject to any legal obligations we may have to retain it). To exercise these rights, please contact us at hello@iaeacademy.in. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
Our services are intended for students who are at least 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
