Source: the official GATE 2026 Instrumentation (IN) syllabus (IIT Guwahati) and the official GATE 2027 IN syllabus (IIT Madras), as on 13 September 2026. Each entry quotes both PDFs. “Not named” means the words do not appear in the 2027 PDF, not that a topic is out of scope.

About this resource

IAE Academy compared the official GATE 2026 Instrumentation Engineering (IN) syllabus, published by IIT Guwahati, with the official GATE 2027 IN syllabus, published by IIT Madras, section by section. The table lists what is newly listed in 2027, what is no longer listed by name, what moved between sections, and where only the words attached to an item listed in both years changed.

“Not named” means the 2026 words do not appear in the 2027 PDF. It does not mean the topic is out of scope: an item worded differently in 2027 may still cover it. Where an item appears in both years, the table says so instead of reporting it as new or gone.

Every entry quotes both PDFs, so you can check each one against the same two public documents.

What's included

  • ✓A section-by-section table covering all 10 GATE IN sections
  • ✓Items newly listed in 2027, and items no longer listed by name
  • ✓Items that moved between sections, and changes to the words attached to an item listed in both years
  • ✓Answers to common questions, each drawn from the table

How to use this resource

Go to the row for the section you want to check. Each column answers one question: what is newly listed in 2027, what it no longer names, and what moved or was reworded.

Read “not named” literally, and check the full 2027 syllabus before treating any topic as gone.

For the complete wording of any item, open the official GATE 2027 syllabus in IAE Academy's Resource Centre.
