ANSWER
DHLP is written as HLPT (option C): each letter moves 4 places forward in the alphabet, and the order stays the same.
Official answer: CSource: Official answer key, GATE 2018 EE (IIT Guwahati)
Write each letter of AMCF and EQGJ as its position in the alphabet: A(1)→E(5), M(13)→Q(17), C(3)→G(7), F(6)→J(10). Every letter moves forward by .
Check the rule on the second example: N(14)→R(18), K(11)→O(15), U(21)→Y(25), F(6)→J(10). Again every letter moves . So the code shifts each letter 4 places forward and keeps the letters in the same order.
Apply the same shift to DHLP: D(4)→H(8), H(8)→L(12), L(12)→P(16), P(16)→T(20).
So DHLP is written as HLPT, which is option (C).
KEY IDEA
Turn each letter into its alphabet position (A = 1, ..., Z = 26) and compare the pairs one by one. Both examples show the same shift, , for every letter with the order unchanged. Once the rule is fixed, the first letter alone decides the answer: D + 4 = H, and only option (C) starts with H.
WATCH OUT FOR
Picking (B) TLPH. It has the right shifted letters (H, L, P, T) but in reverse order. The code keeps the letters in order: the first letter of AMCF gives the first letter of EQGJ, and so on. A second trap is checking only one example. You need both examples to confirm the shift really is for every position.
